HOLY COW THIS IS COOL!

Microsoft really has re-invented the desktop design studio.

I am knocked out by this new product. Watch the video -- yeah, I know, it's a sales video. But it's really amazing technology!

Also, I'm going to try to dig out videos of the old (early-2000's) original "Surface" devices. They were like coffee tables with an embedded video screen.

This is SO much more refined and capable...

Microsoft Surface Studio ... PING!

You can find all the Windows Ping list threads with FR search: just search on keyword "windowspinglist".

Now listen up, before anybody gives me a load of cr@p and calls me a Microsoft shill or worse -- this is FReeper dayglored speaking strictly as a computer engineer and system admin who's worked with and programmed for Windows since the 80's.

I'm sharing my excitement because this is exciting and I think many of you will also find it exciting. No other reason.

I think you'll enjoy this. It's great technology from an outfit we all feared was losing their way. I think they've got a real winner here.

You'll also no doubt get a chuckle out of how... ummmm... "familiar" the layout of the Surface Studio product page is. I almost thought I'd accidentally stumbled onto apple.com but as they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery... LOL.

I’ve been saving my pennies. I usually upgrade all my CAD CAE CAM computers every 3 years. The biggest issue for me is graphics hence I always buy the big work stations as the graphics cards in lower end laptops are not compliant (compatible but not compliant) The graphics cards I use cost double what the rest of the hardware costs. But it looks like the new generation of hybrid laptops will work well. So... This will probably be on my shopping list for end of year big purchases. At $3000 for the setup that’s not a big deal. Considering my last laptop was $6200 and my software is about $7500 per year it’s small change for the “cool” factor.

That is slick.

I guess I’ll see it in 4 years when I can get one used, unfortunately.

Whomever gets one, try not to get a bunch of scratches on it before I can buy it off you!
