This is my take of the electoral college - i'm not authority but it's a fun conversation... at least it's sparking some interesting discussion on Facebook. This is my rare foray into a vanity post here... please be gentle. :)
If the image doesn't load I have Trump winning with 285 electoral college votes. The image is clickable.
This doesn't leave us much room to win. Turnout turnout turnout or our country slips into the drain.
I’m sure Evan McMullin means well but he has to realize that he’s actively working for the HRC campaign, despite his intentions and protestations.
Not really. All of Walker's elections were in non-presidential years. For presidential elections the turnout averages over 700,000 votes higher than in non-presidential elections. Wisconsin has gone Democrat in every election since 1984 I believe.
Add to that the fact that Trump lost the Wisconsin primary, that he's polling poorly in the state, and his feud with Ryan and it all adds up to there being much easier states for Trump to take than Wisconsin.
I'm sure he does.
It’s interesting looking at that mid-term map. If every county on the map had its own electoral college rep, the leftists would be totally screwed, endlessly.
Looking at this map again, I feel like some of the founders, if risen from the grave today, might take a look at the map and say, “No, no, no, no. We didn’t plan on this. Tiny pockets of likeminded corruptibles outvoting a huge swath of land! No, no, back to the drawing boards!” “And what is a Twitter?” “And dear Gd, why are there not more children when your women have their clothes painted onto their bodies like this Kardashian?”
Excellent deconstruction....if only.
IMO, Pa is leaning more Trump than hillary and if anecdotal information means ANYTHING ... NO ONE sees hillary signs (I've seen one and have heard of about 5 or 6), but trump signs are EVERYWHERE by the hundreds approaching thousands here in SW Pa.
Pittsburgh UST'A BE a dem stronghold, but people I know that live and work there tell of more pro Trump discussions than hillary.
Now granted, the hillary's might be "in the closet' (so to speak), but the Trump's are out front and out spoken.
That leaves only Filthydelphia which I'm TOLD is tolerable towards Trump, but no one is calling Filthy FOR Trump.
It has been traditionally Filthydelphia and Allegheny Cy (Pittsburgh) that has always swayed a red state blue.
Pa is solid trump. Any coal or rust belt states are Trump I think
Nice looking map - I would add Wisconsin, Michigan and New Hampshire, maybe even Virginia.
Seeing VA blue breaks my heart :(
I think your map may be more accurate. Would be lovely to see her get less than 200.
I came across a rally in PA somewhere showing lots of black people protesting AGAINST Hillary. Trump is going to get close to 20% of them.
I want to smoke what you are smoking ;-)
That matches Trumps rally strategy.
It is not southwest Pennsylvania that will deliver the state to Clinton, it's southeast Pennsylvania. Democrats take Pittsburg, Philadelphia, and the Philly counties by such large margins that the rest of the state comes along as part of the spoils. This election probably won't be any different.
It’s good to see some positive thinking to combat those that believe the polls and create worry wort threads.
Apparently you overlooked my comment that Pittsburgh appears to be leaning Trump ... which is Allegheny, which is about a third of the bought and stolen votes for democraps.
