Students Say Halloween ‘Murdered by Political Correctness,’ Launch Campaign to ‘Bury’ It

If the PC police killed Halloween on campus, conservative students are determined to ensure the holiday at least has a proper burial.

On Friday, Young America’s Foundation announced a Funeral for Halloween campaign, meant to push back against “warnings of ‘cultural appropriation,’ political correctness, and [others] telling you what you can and can’t wear on Halloween.”

The initiative comes after Halloween sparked widespread controversy on campuses last year. A Yale professor ultimately resigned after an uproar when she dared to criticize the university’s “implied control” over Halloween costumes.

Since then, dozens of universities have hosted events about Halloween and cultural appropriation, also launching “my culture is not a costume” poster campaigns.

In response to this movement, YAF suggested that on Oct. 31, students in YAF chapters at colleges around the country cobble together a cardboard coffin, and fill it with Halloween costumes. They would then place it in a high-traffic area on campus, and hand out an obituary for Halloween

“Halloween was murdered in cold blood by Political Correctness, a suspect also charged in the deaths of Cinco De Mayo, Harambe memes, standup comedy, and a variety of hilariously themed college parties,” YAF’s suggested obit says.

While Groundhog Day, Valentine’s Day and the Fourth of July remain survivors, the mock obituary says, “the same cannot be said for Thanksgiving, Columbus Day, and Christmas, all of which are rapidly falling victim to Political Correctness’s ruthless reign of terror.”

Suggested donations go to Lena Dunham, in anticipation of when SJWs begin to self-cannibalize.

Conservative students? There are a lot of students who are not "Conservative" who do not agree with the PC decimation of Halloween.

The left destroys everything it touches, preaches against or favors.

It’s once again the left assaulting Christianity.

Destroy Christianity, and replace it with themselves.

While I agree that the left hates Christianity, I also remember articles where Halloween was described as irreligious and pagan by writers claiming to speak on behalf of Christianity.

How to stop this idiocy:

Show up at their meeting with a bunch of people saying you agree with them that Halloween should be stopped. and that you have a speaker, speak after one of their people speaks at the meeting.

Your speaker gets up and does this: Attacks Halloween from a Far right “Fred Phelps” Perspective that it is demonic and part of Satan’s plan to corrupt everyone etc etc...

Watch the SJWs go into full meltdown over them suddenly realizing that they agree with someone they proclaim to hate with a vengeance....

Laugh.

Kind of funny now Halloween is becoming not politically correct . For a while, it was being promoted as a better holiday than Christmas by all the Pagans and Satanists.

I wouldn’t worry about it. It is, after all, Halloween. It will rise from the dead.

Yes, I’ve heard/read the same as you, however the event is considered as part of Christianity of yore, therefore as much a target for the left as any other aspect of Christianity. If it’s historically related then it’s a target to them.

I have always loved Halloween, but this is rich justice:

In the SF Bay Area gays are TOTALLY CRAZY about Halloween; they love that it is pagan, you see.

But now?

The most extreme of religions --Secular Fundamentalism-- has taken over, and it devouring Halloween as an orgy of demeaning insults, injuring ALL.

So they're killing it.

In a weird way this is good, as some liberals will finally fall victim to their own ways.

Space --> Alien --> Illegal Alien --> YOU'RE DEMEANING ILLEGAL ALIENS....!

Nuts? YUP.

I live near New Orleans and the gay crowd still goes crazy during holloween. They actually come up with some of the best costumes and they are not PC about it.

In our neck of the woods, you get it from two sides - the PC police but also the holier than thous who insist you are offending God by putting on a silly costume and collecting some cheap candy (if you are a kid) or knocking back a couple brews with friends (if you are an adult kid).

We have people on both sides who can’t seem to unclench and just allow others to dress up how they want and a have a little fun without a tsk tsk or finger waved in your face. I don’t think my Mexican neighbors are going to need therapy if my kid dresses up like Frito Bandito; and my God isn’t going to smite my house if I put on a Winnie the Poo costume. Everybody needs to lighten the heck up.

Fortunately, that began after I outgrew trick-or-treating.

“Halloween, or Hallowe’en (a contraction of All Hallows’ Evening), also known as Allhalloween, All Hallows’ Eve, or All Saints’ Eve, is a celebration observed in a number of countries on 31 October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows’ Day.”

How has it been hijacked to be considered satanic?

my kids are grown and I am growing increasingly annoyed at some of our holidays...

so, I'll put a nice autumn wreath on my door...

I'll carve pumpkins but I won't go overboard on scary ones...infact, I like to carve little pumpkin houses..

I won't put anything up that represents the dark side....

for Christmas, I only send religious themed cards...that say "Christmas"....

I am very happy that Halloween is fading away. It was just stupid and dangerous.

Is Halloween an official “holiday”, or just an American traditional custom?

If it’s just traditional, there is no ruling authority these people can go to in order to cancel it.

It’s just another obstacle in the quest to impose political correctness on the rest of us. Another freedom stolen by the left.

U of Florida is offering counseling for students offended by costumes.

If these snowflakes are our future, we’re fricked.
