Upstate New York Update:

It’s been a rough year; Gram fell and broke her hip, and I’ve been spending a good amount of time at the bedside while she recovers (the poor thing is coming along nicely though, so all is well). As a result, this year my garden went for months without much tending.

Was able to salvage some green peppers, some plum tomatoes that I somehow find time to core and peel and make into sauce, and a BUMPER CROP of habenero peppers (12 plants worth! holy smoke!).

Hopefully next year life won’t intrude too much and I’ll have more time to spend on the backyard.

Gramas have a habit of falling. Hopes for a speedy recovery.

We put in four jalapeño plants and have had “poppers” four or five times. These are cream cheese & mayo stuffed jalapeños wrapped in bacon. I soak the cored peppers over night in salty water to cut the heat down a bit. I cover about 20 of these in tin foil for 30 minutes and uncover for another 10.
YUM !
