While I know that many lyrics are poetic, they really aren't poetry.

This prize is not a reflection on Dylan, as he probably didn't seek it, but it opens up the idea that lyrics are poetry, and I don't think they should be considered to be equal.

Lyrics ARE poetry that have music added. Remember our national anthem is a POEM that gets sung (to the tune of a drinking song).
