Ok - here is an off-topic question. We recently bought my son a used (cheap!) iPhone 4S. My understanding is that due to the hardware, 9.3.5 is the highest OS that this phone will accept.

It’s unlocked with no carrier. We bought it so that he can call 911 if need be. He mostly uses it to play games and check mail when he can get a wifi signal.

So the question is - do we need to be concerned about NOT having the latest iOS? I’m a PC guy, and don’t know much about Apple products (but I’m learning 8^)

Reading around, it seems that the answer is NO - as alot of folks don’t upgrade for some time. I’m just curious to see what the opinion is here at FR.
