Don't want to sound cynical. Just wondering:
What happens? What will Trump supporters do? What will House Republicans do (yawn)? What will Texas do? Will we just whine and bellyache as usual? Do conservative sites get shut down? Does American citizenship lose any meaning? Does the Constitution get trampled? Does the US turn into Venezuela?
How are people preparing? How are you preparing?

Yes I agree it is unlikely. I think the fall of the United States will come from the Barbarians at the Gates (the gates as been trampled into the sand), as opposed to internal revolt. There will be small scale insurrections in localities as conditions deteriorate, but nothing capable of taking out the totalitarian government we will (may) have in less than a month.
If somebody other than Trump were the Republican nominee then I’d be very concerned about Hillary stealing election.

Look, if she wins, it won’t be that close. It means that most of the country doesn’t respond to our message.
This ship sailed long ago, actually. It’s just playing out.
Mr Trump offers a detour for a few years should he win (and I still think he can win), but the trajectory is still going to be the same.
I don’t think a new party will help. It won’t have the money to stand up to the global corporate establishment. Fighting on political terms against them that control all the means of communication and industry is probably a non-starter. We will be isolated on the edges of the “system.” We will have to go underground as rebels - and that may take more than a generation, or more time than many of us have left.
As for me, I’m not just keeping my independent registration, I’m de-registering altogether. I’m going outside the American political system if this fails this year. There won’t be any way to regain what has been lost, or to fight totalitarianism from the inside.

I’m actually retiring in two months, and I have been hearing rumblings about just such an action. If they try for that, then all bets are off.

Well, if she does, the Senate and maybe the House will go Dem as well.
The very first thing she wants to do is put a Marxist stooge on the Supreme Court. They (them Dems) will rush a court case up the Supreme court to erase the Heller decision ... only Militia can own firearms (aka the National Guard).
Next HR 4269 will be expanded and passed (the “Assault Weapons Ban) outlawing all semi-auto firearms and virtually anything other than a flintlock.
Using the Supreme Court decision Hitlery will say that she must enforce the law and start by rounding up all the ATF 4473 forms from all FFL dealers in the country (defacto registry). This will be turned over to the FBI/ATF/IRS.
After a ‘amnesty period’ for people to turn in their firearms, those who do not will be hit with a new IRS tax of something like $1,000 per gun per day fine.
There will be a few high-profile raids of homeowners with full TV coverage (especially if the homeowner tries to fight back).
Any remaining gun owners in the country will be demonized as “Domestic Terrorists” and the public will be encouraged to turn them in.
As for the 1st Amendment, the “Fairness Doctrine” will be reinstated by the FCC (goodbuy Talk Radio). And with the Internet out of the hands of the US, any non-gov’t supporting sites will be shut down.
The Repubs will be able to do nothing and will “go along to get along”.
What will I do? Well first is to set up an Irrevocable Trust and put everything I own into it with my wife as Executor. This way the Gov’t won't be able to get my assets (or at least make it very difficult for them) after they kill me when I do not comply with their firearms confiscation.
The country will become a flophouse for everyone from every third world hell-hole. The middle class will basicly no longer exist as everyone will descend into the rankings of the poor and dependent.
At that point you will never see a repub let along a conservative elected to national office.
Trump supports will be pissed, yes, but over time this will fade because of other concerns we will have (refer to paragraphs above).
In short, Winston Churchill summed it up best
“... if we fail, then the whole world, including the United States, including all that we have known and cared for, will sink into the abyss of a new dark age ...”
I and many others have said it before:
If Hillary wins, then it's all over.
Don't worry about politics anymore. The Left will have permanently won.
State and local laws will become irrelevant, as the Federal government will violently force feed their dictates at every level.
So what to do?
Go Galt.
Enjoy your life. Travel. Get a hobby. And become a "prepper."
Let the Left enjoy their temporary victory, as their policies always end the same way:
Economic collapse and civil war.
My sad prediction: no matter who wins the Election, the other/opposition campaign will declare fraud and demand a recount (ie another Gore). This will take our country into many months of chaos....or disruption or whatever.
I hope that if he loses, Trump will try to keep control over the GOP and get his allies into high positions, so that we can dominate the party and direct its future. If he can’t do this, then I would like him to start a new populist, anti-establishment, pro-America third party that will be geared to appeal to the disenchanted, exploited regular people in both parties. He’d need to recruit a large slate of candidates and spokesmen for the party and make sure it’s not just about himself, but rather something viable to rival the other two parties.
At the very least, Trump needs to work with Bannon (and Ailes quietly on the side) to form a new cable news network. He will know how to make this the most successful news station before long. The people deserve a voice in the establishment controlled media.
