Lots of money around ‘Tiger Town’ on game weekends. Lots of pressure to keep the schedule
from the home folks. JMO
SEC should tell them that the game will count as a forfeit for both teams if they don’t play it. They would both be suddenly more cooperative.
I dont even know why they cancelled the original game in the first place. I followed that storm closely.
The SEC should have forced FL. to make a contingency plan but didn't have the courage to do so.
FL. can play against LSU at their home and LSU can play next year at their stadium.
This is beyond stupid. NFL teams have bit the bullet and moved the location of a game, due to bad weather (and even forest fires once I believe).
But nope, didn’t want to lose the ticket revenue...and now both the revenue and the game result may be lost.
If they can't figure out how to work the makeup game into the schedule, it should be canceled. Maybe the NCAA and/or Florida should pay LSU and their out-of-conference opponent for the lost revenue?
I wouldn't care one way or another, but I've seen how issues like this get addressed whenever the NHL schedules one of those "stadium classic" outdoor games.
I was a huge LSU fan until a few weeks ago. After what the NCAA did to NC i could care less about college sports.
I guess Florida will win by forfeit, likely giving them the SEC East.
