He wasn’t supportive of Black Lives Matter in that clip. He just said that rhetoric from both sides escalates the tensions between the various groups. He says in the beginning of the clip that BLM was solely to blame for the violence. He did, however, put a lot of blame on Trump’s rhetoric, as opposed to that from the radical BLM proponents. I agree, that was an unjustified cheap shot. But then, this is an election year. Every candidate blows things about their opponents out of proportion, except of course in the case of a Hillary or an Obama, where the reality is usually worse then the allegations.
