FReegards, former neighbor! We lived in South Merritt Island in Rockwell Estates until 2005. The hurricanes of 2004 and mandatory evacuations for at least two of them were the catalyst for our move to GreenAcres.

So we’re staying after putting up some window protection. Stay safe everyone and I may not post for awhile as we’re among the last to get power back (1 block from I-95 but only 4 people on the power line).

I fully understand the desire to stay, particularly if you have a reinforced home, generator, etc...but, Cocoa Utilities just announced they are shutting off water to Merritt Island and all beachside at 6PM.

Living in Melbourne off of Sarno Rd. A little concerned about the Eau Gallie River just a little bit North of us, but in as pretty sturdy apartment block, so feeling about as well as can be expected right now. Prayer for all Florida Freepers, and all other in the storms path.

Hi, NVA - well...I'm cautiously optimistic that the area fared OK. I'm *probably* going to hear a lot of "I told you so" from my FIL we badgered into evacuating from Sebastian, but that's totally fine with me. :)

Anxious to hear reports from others able to check in from Palm Bay, Melbourne, and especially from the Sebastian Inlet area.
