I have seen a very disturbing trend of young men and women 18-25 yrs getting pits and then posting pictures all over facebook with their little babies and kids wrestling and draped all over their “sweet” pit bulls. Also on our local FB page almost every dog that gets loose is a pit bull because the type of owners to have a pit also seems to be the ones who are irresponsible in keeping them contained.
Previous comment: No way Im going to donate to save a species that has exhibited a LOT of tendencies to suddenly go feral and with deadly effect.
Tanniker Smith: You know that a lot of human babies do that, too, right?
“Tanniker Smith” I’m only half-joking about that, but the point is, unless you’ve read nearly two decades of my FR posts, you don’t know what I have and haven’t supported. Nor am I limited to supporting one thing in life.

Your retarded comment that “you know that a lot of human babies do that, too, right?” And you are “only half joking”??
I hope you know that you lost any support or sympathy you might ever hoped to have. That comment was just about the most crazy comment I’ve read on this site. Not to mention hideous.
I would really check out the laws first...
I hope you know that you lost any support or sympathy you might ever hoped to have......From who, newbie?
Nope. Not a newbie. I just don’t rant and rave on every single comment.
“Pit bulls aren’t evil dogs.”
I didn’t suggest they were evil. Rattle snakes aren’t evil either... But both are dangerous to have as pets.
babygene, I wasn’t posting to you. I’m sorry. I’m laughing, because I almost made a rattlesnake analogy, too! I meant to respond to the OP.
I know of one death of a child in a parking lot, and recently a pretty young woman scarred for life. And I'd be happy to see the owners of these dogs in jail--but I'll settle to seeing their finances ruined. Which they'll face if their previous pup reverts to breed.
It is indeed a bizarre fad, this obsession with the stupidest, ugliest, and most dangerous breed. A certain class of person thinks that it’s a status-enhancer to own a breed that is associated with meth labs. Rescue homes are full of “such a sweet pup, but I can’t manage her now that she’s two—too much dog for me—too strong—won’t you take on the responsibility and expose your neighbors and family to a menace?” It’s time to drag these dog owners into court.
You sound like a global warmist. You obviously have your mind made up with bad science.
Show me a bad pitbull and I’ll show you a criminal or abusive owner.
Message is, it is not the dog’s fault. They are not innately viscous.
The method of the attack was cold blooded. I was walking my dog, when out of nowhere, a Pitbull appeared and picked him by the back of the neck with its mouth and was violently shaking him. There was no confrontation, no barking. It silently approached from the sidewalk to my right like a cold blooded killer.
Say youre sorry.
Stop the horrendous mauling and killing innocent people.
Ban Pit bulls.
List of 504 Americans murdered by Pit bulls

Every 40 seconds, someone in the United States seeks medical attention for a dog bite.
There are approximately 800,000 bites per year in the United States that require medical treatment.
Most of the victims are children, and most of them are bitten on the face.
Almost $165 million is spent treating dog bites and 70% of dog bites occur on the owner’s property.
Dog bites result in approximately 44,000 facial injuries each year.
This represents between 0.5% and 1.5% of all hospital emergency room visits.
Male patients slightly outnumber females.
Unfortunately children comprise 60% of the dog bite victims. Severe injuries occur almost exclusively in children less than 10 years of age.
The face is the most frequent target (77% of all injures). Mail carriers are an exception where 97% involve the lower extremities.
We see an unusual number of dreadful injuries each spring. Severely injured patients stay an average of 4.2 days in the hospital.
Dog bites cause an average of 18 deaths a year.
Apology accepted. She posted, are the animal rights people as concerned for the lives of unborn babies as they are animal lives. Or words to that effect. And I asked her was she joking. It went over her head.
I donated. thanks for doing this. ignore the idiots that are compelled to respond with negativity and hatefulness.
After they kill these dogs the government should sponsor a feral animal kill off.
Especially feral cats. Round em up and kill em all.
Even Steve Erwin put down a feral cat on one of his shows in Australia. Steve had cornered a feral cat in a tree once. After a lengthy lecture on how destructive to wild life these critters are, he paused and gave the camera “the eye” and cut to commercial. When it cut back to the show, the cat was gone. :-)
People that get all worked up over a dog...
I will have to disagree with the fools here that see the pit bull only as dangerous. I’ve been around many. My daughter’s two are the only grand children I have so far. They are my grandchildren. Just as loving and sweet as any dog could be.
It’s the douche bag owners fault in raising these poor animals. They look like hardasses but are really pussycats.
“Pit bulls aren’t evil dogs. They’re trained to be evil dogs.”
Read up on the history of the breed. They were originally bred to be hunter killers. They don’t need to be trained to be vicious. It’s in their genes.
My mom once had three pit bull dogs that she raised from pups. She’s a loving granny, and treated those dogs like they were her own babies, but they would rip the flesh off anyone else had the misfortune to get close to them.
It’s simply the temperament of the breed.
I do.
No
At the least a clean bill of health from a vet will be needed.
