“Tim Burton Explains Why ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children’ Features A Predominantly White Cast”
He’s right, and good for him having the courage to say it plain.
I go, like, KMA, OK, like?
Good. I’m so sick of this b!tching about race. I didn’t complain when there were no white Cosby family members.
Geesh.
Can my family and I just be classified as a ‘minority’, now?
Films are white culture created.
Everyone else should stop appropriating what white culture created.
We gave up slavery. Whites were not the first to have slaves, and the places before us, still have slavery. Africa, and the middle east, and asia. All still have slaves.
America was the first county to go to war against slavery.
Because 1940s Europe was overwhelmingly white.
That’s why the image of a half black German kid in Nazi get up was considered fake (actually bastard of German mother and African client state citizen who studied in Germany for a while), why Othello was so provocative in the 1600s, why the half Indian woman who joined the radio corps was so distinctive - she was one of the only non-whites in the whole program ever.
Let that sink in for a moment because by today's population standards, that's 7.7 million
hell you talking 'bout?
What’s the problem? An ‘alpha-male’ female and a ‘pasty ,white, linguini-armed beta-male’ following directions.
Mommy/daddy issues galore. What’s not to like in libland?
Growing Up as a Black Kid in Nazi Germany

There were so few black people in Europe that the image with this story was thought fake.
Not a whole lot of non-Anglos around.
A few Irish perhaps.
You might find a retired Pukka Sahib with a native servant or two but that was pretty much it.
Oh, being all bound by the objective historical conditions ... what’s wrong with you? It’s not like this stuff really happened anyway!
Actually, in a way, it’s not like this stuff really happened anyway. A history is one thing, and a historical fiction is a step removed, and a fantasy jumping off from a historical setting is something else again.
But on the other, other hand ... go with what’s in the text.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans_Massaquoi
I like this line: “Massaquoi dated a white girl, but they had to keep their relationship a secret, especially as her father was a member of the police and the SS.”
Talk about big cajones. Girlfriend’s daddy is a REAL Nazi and a member of the SS. Livin’ on the edge, that one.
Good for him..and the movie looks pretty cool too..gee I dont remember anyone complaining about Good Times having an all black cast..or when they referred to whites as “Honkeys” it was a show and a good show too..in fact Jimmy Walker is a Republican from what I read a while back and a darn good actor too
