I seriously doubt that was an accident. I also seriously doubt that anything legally will happen to him.

Yeah....I’m gonna buy this hook, line and sinker.
After he can prove she didn’t have a divorce lawyer on retainer, hadn’t confided in her girlfriends about ‘that bastard’ or any of that stuff.
“I accidentally shot my wife in the back” excuse would be nice. Just need the whys and wherewithalls to back that up, IMO.

They had to detour for a traffic jam at midnight or later?
It sounds like the husband outright killed her, probably paid the driver very well to not know anything about what happened.

Lets say it was a mistake. Manslaughter at least. Shooting in the back is a crime right there. The fact that he did not get the identity right should not matter. This is not the old west. You can’t shoot someone in the back.

The report had little to report.
Extremely intellectual.

How many people would get the same treatment from police and news media, had they shot their own spouse while riding in the same vehicle? Practically none.
He was concerned about carjacking? OK, ask the hired driver to stop the SUV and then have him exit at gunpoint.
For what reason was he so paranoid about carjacking? Why hire a driver, then?
The story makes no sense.

The Fulton Daily Report, a publication specializing in news about the legal community, reported that McIver inadvertently killed her. He was on the lookout for carjackers when the shooting occurred, the publication reported.Be VEWY VEWY quiet! I'm hunting CARJACKERS!

Mighty convenient he just happened to have hired a driver so has a witness it was just an “accident”.

Initially, the way this story was reported, it sounded like a shooting from the street to the car. The first AJC "breaking news" reporter (to her credit...which I never give to this leftist rag...) told me the initial non-story was written based on the police report, which left nothing but questions to be answered. Considering someone was dead, it appeared very shoddy and suspect on the part of the APD.
With more information coming in dribs and drabs, there are still more questions than answers. At best, this very well-connected lawyer should face charges of reckless endangerment...at best.

If you cannot believe lawyers, who can you believe?
If the guy was a ghetto crawler, would you believe him? If he gets off, is it “white privilege?” Or better yet, “class privilege?”
