Prominent Atlanta business executive Diane McIver was accidentally shot and killed as the SUV in which she was riding passed by Piedmont Park in the waning hours of Sunday night, according report issued late Thursday night.
The Fulton Daily Report, a publication specializing in news about the legal community, reported that McIver inadvertently killed her. He was on the lookout for carjackers when the shooting occurred, the publication reported. They cited a family spokesman, Bill Crane. Reached by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Crane declined to confirm the account.

I seriously doubt that was an accident. I also seriously doubt that anything legally will happen to him.
um... sure
This happens to me all the time. NBD.
Yeah....I’m gonna buy this hook, line and sinker.
After he can prove she didn’t have a divorce lawyer on retainer, hadn’t confided in her girlfriends about ‘that bastard’ or any of that stuff.
“I accidentally shot my wife in the back” excuse would be nice. Just need the whys and wherewithalls to back that up, IMO.
They had to detour for a traffic jam at midnight or later?
It sounds like the husband outright killed her, probably paid the driver very well to not know anything about what happened.
Lets say it was a mistake. Manslaughter at least. Shooting in the back is a crime right there. The fact that he did not get the identity right should not matter. This is not the old west. You can’t shoot someone in the back.
Hmmmm.....she was going to vote for Hillary, he had to stop her anyway he could....
The report had little to report.
Extremely intellectual.
How many people would get the same treatment from police and news media, had they shot their own spouse while riding in the same vehicle? Practically none.
He was concerned about carjacking? OK, ask the hired driver to stop the SUV and then have him exit at gunpoint.
For what reason was he so paranoid about carjacking? Why hire a driver, then?
The story makes no sense.
But this won't.
The traffic jam should be easy to prove or disprove with surveillance camera footage. I also wonder why they didn’t drive to the closer hospital that the husband surely knew about since he lives in Atlanta.
Be VEWY VEWY quiet! I'm hunting CARJACKERS!
OH LOOK! MY WIFE!
Who hasn’t been shot in the back by a lawyer?
Reminds me of the Charles Stuart case in Boston several years ago.
Reminded me of this story. Just shooting a hole in the wall for some coax cable.

Well who hasn't "accidentally" shot and killed at least one spouse while "on the lookout for carjackers?"
Guess that depends on whether that hospital was Grady. If he took her to Grady, he may have wanted her to live. If he took her out of the way to avoid Grady, definitely guilty.
Grady being the gunshot treatment capital of Atlanta.
The story said that the closer hospital was Piedmont Hospital.
He didn’t intend it.
