DANG!
I guess there is no point in going back and picking up my couch now.
Must’ve been an old couch. Most new ones don’t even have a hardwood frame and would fly to pieces on impact rather than severely damaging the car.
On the interstate driving out of Boise one foggy morning...bumper to bumper....then BOOM. Horses. Just missed hitting one.
A front porch somewhere in redneckland is missing it’s couch...
Ever since having an empty boat trailer come unhooked in front of me while driving in MN one time I’ve been especially aware of what other people are hauling.
Fortunately the driver was in a car and not on a motorcycle. There should be at least some liability for the driver of a vehicle that dumps objects onto the road.
Once hit a rolled up carpet on my motorcycle at 70mph. Pulled up at impact and landed square. Bent the gear-shift and that was all.
As I sat on the side looking to change underwear, an 18-wheeler came along and avoided the carpet by pulling to the right edge. I ran like the devil away from the bike.
Luckily, he saw me in time and veered back. Really needed a “change” at that point.
“the car suffered heavy damage”
From hitting a couch? What was is, a Prius?
We need “couch-free zones”! Like the partially submerged couch one of the kayakers hit while paddling in the Rio Olympics.
