Capitalism is successful to the degree it accepts human nature and puts it to use. Socialism thinks human nature is malleable and tries unsuccessfully to beat the square peg into a round hole. When that fails, rather than abandon their conceit, the cacophony resumes with, “This time it’s different.”

This is the issue and is what the left fears the most.
They have no Faith in Man because they have no Faith in themselves. Having rejected Faith in God, they are left with placing their trust in Man to control Human Nature.
