Pathetic self-aggrandizement post on my part ... but I ain't celebrating it nor am I ashamed of it ... I'm just yer usual normal citizen who loves America and am so happy that I was born here and am able to rant and rave, in a silly way, about the follies of my fellow Americans ... pay no attention to that Big Brother behind the Curtain .......

Then how do you explain Flea?
You’ve described my son’s band fairly well. There are 3 of them. The lead singer and the lead guitarist are the same guy. My son is the bassist. He is the glue that holds the band together.
So then, the BassMan is really the sexiest player in the band, ehhhh? I like it !!! heeheeeee
Ping
LOL ... yep, that's the gist of it ... if not for the rhythmic connection between the drummer and the bassist then the entire band would fall apart.

Who in heck is "Flea" ???
..Then how do you explain Flea?
Who in heck is “Flea” ???...
An overpaid drummer?
Keith Moon and John Bonham were the ultimate drummers.
So why is Rock “in decline”?
It’s NOT because of downloading, like Gene Simmons says.
EDM (Electronic Dance Music) is better now and more popular?
Gotta read the captions.
Ping for later. It’s my rock n roll birthday night in Tokyo now. We just returned to downtown from the awesome Yokota Friendship Day at Fussa.
So many beautiful birds and...”beautiful birds”.
Ronin was wearing his rock n roll adorned vest along with all his Connie gear too.
Oooooh, there went your street cred.
Can't disagree with ya on that :)
I think this was a well reasoned, perfectly rational description.
Oh, and I’ve got a Carl Thompson bass. :-)
Mark
Beyond the musical glue, he is the level head that holds them together too. The front man is a creative talent, but his creativity leads him toward drama from time to time. My son is the steady person in the band that brings a calming influence to when things get rocky.
Keith Moon and John Bonham were the ultimate drummers.
I gotta disagree with Keith Moon. Had he lived longer, he would have eventually checked into the Betty Ford "Overplayers anonymous" clinic.
John Bonham, though.... Musical thunder.
LOL ... and my so-called 'street-cred' dissipated exactly when ??
The funny part of this OP, and meme, is that even in this millennial era, that the 'boomer' generation set the standard for excellence in music that has gone unmatched nowadays. Sure, there a few really good musical artists today, but very few of 'em can match the magic of any of the classic rockers of yesterday.

My brother is all of those guys by turns. He also plays weddings and runs the AV department at Stetson U.
Rock is in decline because, thanks in large part to Pro Tools, every friggin' band out there sounds just like the one before it...my hatred for Pro Tools is another conversation altogether.
