I am serious. It is extremely difficult for an American to transport a handgun from the lower 48 to Alaska. It did not use to be so. All that was requied was a simple form and a seal at the border.
Start with full reciprocity as the negotiating point. We can point to the stats that show that American permit holders are more law abiding than Canadians.
Then we can show the Mexicans that Americans need much more protection in Mexico than they do in the U.S.
