Seahawks to stand, interlock arms during anthem
By Kevin Patra Around the NFL writer Published: Sept. 10, 2016 at 03:41 p.m. Updated: Sept. 10, 2016 at 05:14 p.m.
Doug Baldwin promised the Seattle Seahawks would plan a demonstration of "unity" during the national anthem before Sunday's season opener against the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 11.
On Saturday, Baldwin revealed the team's plan to stand and interlock arms.
"We are a team comprised of individuals with diverse backgrounds," Baldwin said in the video. "And as a team, we have chosen to stand and interlock arms in unity. We honor those who have fought for the freedom we cherish. And we stand to ensure that the riches of freedom, and the security of justice for all people. Progress can and will be made only if we stand together."

Did I read this wrong? They are honoring the troops and those we lost on 9-11. They are not sitting during the Anthem.
I’m going with it is a good thing.
Apparently,, they consulted with Nate Boyer on this before deciding to do it.
I’m with YOU!
OH, How swEet. A bunch of overpaid wannabe activists locked arm in arm..

This is now getting into the silly column. Stand for the flag and play ball. Who cares about anyone’s background. . . it’s called playing on a team and bringing your talent to the game and doing what your position calls for . . . pure and simple. Having done a little coaching years ago, there was always one or two players that wanted to stand out on their own which did not contribute to the team’s success.
Well, nobody can kneel while everyone else stands, but nobody can place their right hand over their heart, either. So, its still look at us grandstanding to a degree, when the attention should be upon the national anthem and showing respect for it.
There was a disagreement between women’s volleyball and women’s soccer players 10+ years. One said they were paid to entertain the other to play a sport. Women Volleyball players can still make a living in the US playing a sport because they understood they were paid to entertain.
Unfortunately I think this NFL attitude is positive entertainment for too many people in the US. If not it would be over - owners, sponors, nfl would have stopped it but it sells. And I’d bet it’s more damaging to people than any regressive tax. It’s probably not millionaires paying $50 making Kaepernick a top selling jersey.
I haven’t cared for NASCAR but loved the people in the past. I may start loving the sport if I give up NFL? Not sure the seasons align though. The people definitely align
Russell Wilson? You mean the clown who cancelled his wedding in NC because of the fag bathroom law? I hope someone sends him to the hospital.
I didn’t agree but he can have his wedding where he wants. You hope someone sends him to the hospital? You are sick. That is something the left does. Even those trying to sack him and drive him into the turf don’t want to send someone to the hospital.
Yes they do. It’s like a boxer wishing that the guy doesnt go to the hospital when his throwing punches that would normally make a normal man go to ER. That’s the objective of contact sports. You dont like it go play chess.
You need help. That’s s disgusting comment.
Cry me a river. I hate liberals.
He will never admit it.
America’s Team.
In my experience, anybody who would make a comment as dumb as yours never played a contact sport in their life. So im guessing your discussion of the chess team is from experience
So it would be a good thing for all liberals playing football to end up in the hospital because they disagree with you? How about liberals dying in car crashes? Is that good? How about their children dying of disease? Is that good?
would you like a tissue?
LOl and you bitch on Fr for the past 8 years doing close to nothing about it. Cry me a river
As long as there are no "Black Power" fists or any such silliness, this is the RIGHT way to make a RESPECTFUL statement.
No need to over-analyze this. If they stand, they show respect.
It's a relief. I hope others follow their example and don't show disrespect.
Vote Trump!
