ARLINGTON, Texas — The game between the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night at new Cowboys Stadium set an NFL regular-season attendance record with a crowd of 105,121.
Oh Lordy, I think that had escaped me! I'm optimistic that the teams tonight will show that they have some class and respect.
While not even remotely on the same scale, Bowman-Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, NC was a large high school football stadium during the week and a quarter mile racetrack on the weekends. How they kept the football field in a condition for games always amazed me, they sometimes held demolition derbies on it. City high schools have since gone on to newer, dedicated stadiums. You may recall the facility from the “Madhouse” series on the History Channel.
Read the fine print. The seating capacity is only 75,000. But Jerry Jones somehow convinced 30,000 people to buy standing room only tickets where fans would stand outside and watch the game on big screens. And he managed to include them as part of the attendance totals. Got to give the guy credit
YES! I've been there. Went last year with some buddies from here in Knoxville for some bodacious short track racing!
I said the Cowboys had a game with attendance over 105,000.
You said they did not. No one but you is talking capacity.
The largest crowd to never see a football game.
Hope folks have their telescopes.
LOL. I probably would have agreed, but the mammoth TV screens that Bristol put in place will give even the nosebleed sections fans a good view.
Some great early NASCAR history in that place.
Jerseys are Hokie Stone!
Looks like a crowd trying to get into a Trump rally!
150,000 or so are expected to be in the stands.
550,000 cans of ‘beer’ were delivered earlier this week.
I’ve been there when Bristol race tickets were still the hardest to get in all of Nascar. The crowds are mind boggling.
