Bellingham man electrifies his Donald Trump yard signs
KIRO ^ | September 7, 2016

BELLINGHAM, Wash. - A Bellingham man, who is supporting Donald Trump, says people kept on stealing his Trump yard signs, almost as fast as he was putting them up.

Ray Gilbride tells our partner KIRO Radio that he has had a total of seven signs stolen.

This summer, Gilbride got fed up.

First he set up a security camera, but when he turned over footage of people taking the signs to police, he says they didn't follow up.

Gilbride then wired up a rig that electrified the signs.

Surveillance video showed people taking the signs and getting shocked.

Simple solution, stick it on the roof.

You are correct, that is why you mix ghost pepper powder in some water and spray it on the signs where they are likely to grab them. :) I can attest to the completed transaction. :)

It is very very very hot and when the thief steals the sign and get it on their hands then scratch their crotch or touch their face they will regret stealing the sign. :)

There is no greater bastion of liberals than Bellingham. It’s as bad as Cambridge or San Francisco.

UNLESS, of course they don’t know where the heat came from...

My guess, if they put that on the sign, probably would be safe from a lawsuit if he put a warning sign out there.

It is not only their own fault here-if they tried to steal, or damaged something on your property while they were trespassing, you can press charges, or else sue for damages in civil court if you are so inclined. There doesn’t have to be any livestock on the property, either-you can electrify your veggie garden or deck if you want to...

That is the beauty of it, they won’t know where it came from. :)

So, one wonders, what’s to keep them from coming back and doing it again? And if they figure it out and there’s no warning sign, they might win in a lawsuit.

They can come back all they want, all you did was spray your area for bugs and got some on the sign. :)

That's not necessarily the case.

Many years ago, I had two sound systems stolen from my vehicle in separate thefts.

As is often the case, the police took my report(s) and that was the end if it.

Figuring the third time would not be the charm, I put razor blades in the wiring of my next installation, and proudly said so to the local police.

They quickly told me to remove the blades, or the potential thief could prosecute me if injured.

Of course, I was aghast, but never forgot their warning.
