I recently had it. Gave me an uncontrollable cough and raspness in my voice. Proton Pump Inhibiters helped. She’ll probably not be exhibiting the cough any more.
If she DOES, it’s not GERD and she may have anything from the Big C to polyps.
I knew someone who had GERD and they were able to ameliorate it by cutting back drastically on their carb intake (mostly, believe it or not, tortilla chips & similar, as they loved Mexican food).
