My point is “trophy hunting” that takes the life of any living being is not justified. Food is in abundances and we don’t need to hunt for food either.

She practiced the art of ecological sustainability by thinning the herd, which had grow too large without the action of the absent native predation (lions). She was granted the role of apex-predator-for-a-day, by the game management in charge of the reserve's animals. They (management) picked the designated cull for the hunt, to best serve the vitality of the herd.

Trophy hunting is stupid, wasteful and inhuman.Trophy hunting has nothing at all to do with this article, but thanks for playing anyway and showing that the main point of the article has no relevance whatsoever to your misguided comment.

Big Game hunting brings a lot of money into African countries, lifting many people out of poverty. Its highly regulated, and no one sneaks in and guns down endangered species. The hunts are sanctioned and controlled. The death of this giraffe does not move the species closer to extinction.
The white guys managing the hunt and the black thugs running the government are the only ones lifted out of poverty. It's one thing for lions to hunt giraffes for food. They work hard and take great risks to do so. Killing a giraffe with a high powered rifle is such sport, even a little girl can do it.
She is not doing this for sport. She is not doing this to eat. She is doing it for the trill of the kill. I'm sure the giraffe shares your opinion that such hunts do not endanger the species and is happy to comply with thrill kills.

You can only draw such a comparison if you put aside all logic.
Killing a wild animal is not even in the same universe as killing an unborn human.
But to some people, all they have is a hammer, and everything looks like a nail.

Substitute “deer” for “giraffe” in your post, and you’ll quickly see how ridiculous it is.
Just because an animal has a long neck and lives on another continent doesn’t make it special.

Someone did honey child.
It is like deer hunters who donate their kill to food banks and homeless shelters.
