Physical punishment is only effective if used sparingly.
Most parents don't need some book by some "professional" to tell them how to properly raise their kids.
Having said that, how a parent disciplines their child is nobody else's concern. Only in cases supported by compelling evidence should a parent ever be interfered with.
How did we ever survive without such "experts" for thousands of years of human history?
Vote Trump!

That is the great truth. If you threaten to do it, and follow thru when they dont believe you, the next time you say you will, they will believe you will.
Then just the threat of it will keep them from doing wrong. At least the averge kid.

When little children are told, for example, “NEVER STICK A PAPER CLIP INTO THE ELECTRIC SOCKET YOU MIGHT DIE!!!!” , and they give you that look and do it again, the spank is what saves their little lives....and a parent’s grieving for a lifetime.
Gotta have in the toolkit. Gotta.

Agreed. We spanked our children only a couple times ... didn't need to more than that. We enforced what we said, calmly, and isolated them in their rooms away from their siblings when they misbehaved. And it worked. Being separated from the tribe drove them crazy. We didn't yell or berate, just put them in their room and said come out when you can get along.
It worked.
