I'm not sure if you are aware of this but we have had children voting in elections since the eighties. The family act of 1988 sees to this under title IV-D of the Social Security Act.

Child support payments, most of which go to custodial mothers, go beyond 18 years of age in every state except for the American Territory of Guam.

All other states have stipulations where child support goes beyond 18, especially if said "child" is not self supporting (a high likelihood in this economy) and also if said "child" has not finished high school by age 18 (another increasing phenomenon).

In the District of Columbia, Mississippi, New York and the commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the age of majority for Child Support to possibly end is age 21. Insurance can be provided by the parents in NYS through age 29.

If you think about it, because the voting age is 18, we have "children" voting in elections, and have had for quite some time. These "children" are also very likely to be low information voters, due to public school/college indoctrination and due to the fact that they are in "broken" homes where almost unequivocally, liberal "single" mom calls the shots.

This is a good reason why the voting age should be raised to 21 on a federal basis since childhood is being drawn out well into the late twenties and "broken" homes are much more likely to infantilize their children.

Under obamacare, “kids” up to 26 can be covered under mom or dad’s health plan.

Voting age: 26.

I dont know how I feel about conservatives using that piece of the obama act to their advantage.

I know I would likely want to protect my kid AND save 1000 a month!! Interesting.

Still think it’s an absurdly old age to be covered by mommy but it is what it is.

The theory for dropping the *national* voting age from 21 to 18 was that anyone old enough to be drafted and sent to Vietnam should be old enough to vote for or against the politicians sending him to possible death. So the justification for the lower voting age went out the window with the draft.

Of course, it didn’t impact me, as I lived in a state which already allowed 18 year olds to vote.

The voting age should be raised to 30! Today's 2w1 year olds are more like children of 10...maybe, when the voting age was 21.

This is a good reason why the voting age should be raised to 21

Harry Truman was asked about lowering the voting age to 18 and he retorted that it would make more sense to raise it to 25.
