Westworld reveals unsettling poster, tagline

The mysterious sci-fi drama’s poster includes the show’s double “W” logo, a glimpse of a scenic Western vista and a skeletal unfinished robotic “host.”...

Westworld also unveiled a new tagline: “Every Hero Has a Code,” a nod to how the protagonists in this update of Michael Crichton’s 1973 film are the androids more than humans that use them for entertainment.

Burning Man.

That’s where that 180 foot long asteroid should have struck.

I’m all for that kind of automation as long as the kill switch is reliable.

Not inviting, not approachable, definitely not human.
Too grim. Not on my Must See list. This seems a Johnny Depp, dystopian kind of movie.

“I note that the dude has boobs, which is unsettling.”

I note that the dude is also a eunuch. Between these two facts we can then conclude that he’s a typical liberal.

Where am I going to put my beer?

Be careful what you wish for. Your bot will look like Kurt Russell with a crewcut. Enjoy.

Once again, the new generation of ‘whiz bang pow’ kids think that they can put a better handle on a storyline that made money in the past. They might even be eyeing the video sales for those that just might be it to watch the comparison.

In this case, ‘whiz bang pow’ means ‘pop, pop, sputter, melt’.

Thats Maria. Not a dude. Actually a pretty good flick. Netfix had a longer restored version up a while ago.

I ordered the KINO release way back on DVD from Netflix. I bet the original audience was amazed.

I loved the original Westworld. Futureworld was ok.

I agree. Good remakes are rare. "The Fly" was good. The remake of "Rollerball" (which I consider a terrific movie) was unwatchably bad.

I was confused by the subtitles which (I think) translated Maschinenmensch "Machine-man", when it actually means "Machine-human".
