Huh. So you contend that “the current” is the same as “the latest”. Well, I guess your English really is lacking. The iPhone 6 is current; it is still for sale. However, it is not the latest - that is the iPhone 6S. Current versions of the iPhone stretch back a year or two; they are not the latest.

Do you even comprehend English? "TheCurrent" is a far different concept than "current, " especially when you are talking about variations that distinguish one from another such as different models which it is known are changed every year or more frequently. The implicit statement of "the current" is therefore accept to mean the most recently available model not one from two years ago which has been superseded by two newer versions.

It's obvious you lack an understanding of common parlance. Had he said, a currently available" iPhone he would have been partially correct. but even that needs more clarification as NEW versions of that do not develop the problem until they have been in use for more than a year and a half or so, and then only a very few of those have even demonstrated the problem. However, he stated it as a blanket indictment of the entire iPhone 6 line, when all evidence is now pointing to a "few dozen complaints."

I was in a major Apple authorized repair station in Sacramento this morning, one not owned by Apple. I spoke with Albert, their head technician, as he was pulling a Fusion Drive setup from a defunct 27" iMac for me due to HIPAA regulations which required that I observe the removal.

During that process we discussed the hullabaloo about the iPhone 6 failures. The techs said they were wondering what all the fuss was about in the main stream news. Albert said they have seen ZERO iPhones with this complaint. I asked what they thought could be the probable cause of the failure mode of the iPhone 6es. The general agreement among the techs basically agreed with my assessment, that it was not a "bendgate" issue but most likely a "Tin Whisker" related problem. He's seen that on other older electronics.

Simple answer: I already told you both the answer to that question. You obviously are not bothering to read what is posted, so I am NOT going to answer it again. There are two currently produced iPhones in 2016, neither of which is the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus, which were released in September of 2014, two years ago. Go up thread and read what I wrote, not so smart, pantsless person with severe reading comprehension.

So, there are more than one current model?

See - you want it both ways. And that is why you’re wrong.

Enjoy!

Obviously you did not bother to look back to see what I wrote. There are, until the end of September TWO current model iPhones that were in production. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were NOT included as being in production since March of 2015. Neither one of those models is a currently produced iPhone. I am not having it both ways, I am being specific about the truth. YOU are obfuscating the truth. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus which SOME, as the reports claim "several dozen" older models which had been in operation for more than 18 months, did develop the non-responsive screens. This is hardly a dire or huge problem. That model of iPhone is NOT either one of those two current models, it was a model that was introduced TWO YEARS AGO and ceased production more than a year ago! Do you get it now????

Contrary to the ignorant claim that was made by Minnesota_bound, Apple is NOT introducing a new model iPhone because "the current phones" are failing due to screen problems. That was the scurrilous and FALSE statement that you are trying desperately to defend an asinine and stupid claim which had no basis in fact.
