How well does Facebook know your politics?

Davidson said advertisers and political campaigns can also search and sort based on demographics and geography.

In searching the city of Seattle, for example, Facebook estimates a potential reach of more than 800,000 likely, liberal leaning individuals, compared to more than 50,000 likely conservatives.

Davidson explained campaigns are primarily focused on targeting “persuadable voters,” who are likely to be found in the moderate or basic liberal or conservative groupings, as opposed to the extreme categories on either side.

Targeting can then be further narrowed based on profile information such as age, gender, even estimated income and lifestyle.

“If you have kids, you might be more prone to care about education messaging. If you’re about to retire, you’re more prone to care about social security,” he said.

I want to join the F_ F_Book party.

I want all F_Book managers and share-holders thrown in jail for violating the privacy of their customers.

Those are my politics.

Any questions, F_Book?

Well, unless they monitor my posts at Free Republic, they don’t know anything about me. I’ve never graced them with a ‘click’ much less registered with them.

Facebook thinks I am “Very Liberal”. LOL.

Probably because on the rare occasion that I make a political post, I choose left-wing sources that are inadvertently making right-wing points. My FB feed is filled with progressive bilge, so I rarely go there.

I know a lot of people here want nothing to do with Facebook, but I’m on there all of time. I refuse to relinquish that venue to the left, constantly challenging the liberal propaganda posted there by my “friends.” Instead, I use Facebook as another forum to expose Hillary and the Democrats for what they really are. I’ve had a number of people “unfriend” me, and that’s okay - I consider that a victory. They can’t come up with a credible rebuttal to my positions, so they run away. I’ve even caused a few of them to become so angry they’ve quit Facebook entirely and deleted their page (even better!) Others have stopped posting their liberal rants, which consist of well thought out remarks such as “Trump is an idiot” or “Republicans are a bunch racists” with no substance whatsoever to back it up. They know I’ll respond with facts and examples that they can’t refute, so now they’re content with posting pictures of their dog, or the cake they made last night. Instead of avoiding Facebook, I see it as another battleground where the liberal left can be confronted and defeated.

“so now they’re content with posting pictures of their dog, or the cake they made last night.’

Even that’s better than the ones that post zillions of pics of their kids-——the brightest, best looking, most athletic kids that have ever walked the face of the earth.

This is my view as well. I have been threatened for my views, but I still keep posting and pushing back against liberal view points.

Also FB is the easiest way to keep in touch with family and friends.

They don’t do a damn good job of it.

My account was noted as “liberal” (of course everyone is assumed to support liberal ideology until otherwise proven, that’s how they keep their numbers up; feed the same DNC talking points to the masses).

This in spite of articles and sites I visit, in spite of the “trending” topics I click-identify as “offensive/inappropriate”.

I’ve unclicked the “liberal” box in their profile of my account.

Also Facebook has ended the practice of paying staff to type up synopsis on “trending” topics. I suspect in part because of the heat they were getting for liberal bias in selection of ‘trending’ topics and the slant of what the synopsis was.

No, it's the modern method of chain letters.

The come on is like this:

Post the picture of your favorite album, no need to defend why it is great it is just accepted as such case closed, and then tag 6 of your friends, repost this with your album!

I have selected “never show posts from” all sorts of vile leftwing propaganda sites (which should minimize their “trending” status as the posts by ‘friends’ are not seen in my newsfeed).

I have visited the FR page (but not posted) and other conservative sites/profiles.

The algorithm is BS. But at least I didn’t get noted as “very liberal”.

What’s this Facebook thingie that you speak of? My dog has it, but she won’t tell me a thing about it. I guess Facebook doesn’t know my politics, but I’m pretty sure my dog is a Democrat.
