Mouse and GG believe that human beings have souls. But I’m not aware of any dissection/exploration that has ever located and identified a ‘soul’ within a human being. So, their beliefs are just that - beliefs.
How is that different from the belief and intuition that these other thoughtful people hold - that their animals have souls of some kind which continue into an afterlife?
We can play ‘my belief or faith is superior to yours’ forever; in the end, we’ve still got belief and faith.

You can look around you and see our world teeming with life and not know there is a spirit in all of it?
None are as blind as those who refuse to see.
