With ROE being so restrictive these days a good defensive weapons system like C-RAM is badly needed.
SJ, I concur, the ADA unit would have Avenger, Vulcan, or current anti-aircraft missile systems. Perhaps they are going to serve as infantry or MPs. Numerous FA and ADA officers and NCOs I’ve talked to say that was their mission in Iraq. and their artillery pieces state at home in the States.
OK, some more reading is making me like this approach a little more. There’s still nothing like quick response steel on target, though. Even better, a well-executed TOT with a mix of fuse quick and VT is a thing of beauty that’ll make an old Redleg tear up...a little.
I agree. It just seems from what I’ve read that the general rule today is they can shoot rockets and mortars at you but you can’t shoot back.
