I watched the 1951 movie, "I was a Communist for the FBI" for free on YouTube. It was distributed by Warner Brothers in 1951 and nominated for an Oscar for Best Documentary.
I urge everyone to watch it. The parallels to the manipulation taking place today are stunning. It is obvious that today's agitators are taking cues from the same playbook.
I especially appreciated the section in which black steelworkers in Pittsburgh were manipulated into a wildcat strike and riots so that the Party could raise money for its own purposes. At one point they joked about raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for a defense fund that needed $65,000, and using the rest for other purposes.
Again, the movie is available for free on YouTube.
I Led Three Lives comes to mind. As to whether today’s travails are fellow travelers with communism, I guess at root they are. Leftism’s destination is communism, with useful idiots as cannon fodder, enablers, and, in the end, the actual leaders who are the only ones to profit from it.
That’ll earn you a whack-a-doodle label from McCain or Biden. Wear it as a badge of honor!!
There is an OTR program with a similar name that’s really good.
Reminds me of Masters of Deceit, by J Edgar Hoover.
Was also a radio series.

I listen to the radio version all the time on Radio Classics on SiriusXM. Dana Andrews was the lead. Much of the media and entertainment industry was actually patriotic in those days.
Bump for later.
Too bad the Left has managed to demonized and ridicule Hoover to the point that nobody pays attention to the real issues of Communist infiltration that concerned him during his career. If they had, we wouldn’t have seen Acorn or Answer or Occupy or Black Lives Matter achieve the impact that they did during their times of news dominance. Thy all are he same divide-and-conquer group trying to weaken the US and undermine capitalism by sowing ethnic division and feelings of persecution.
If you get a chance read ‘Out of the Night’ by Jan Valtin; it goes into detail of how the communist scum foment this kind of subversion, as they’ve had 100 years of practice at it in Europe.
You can also watch a few episodes of I Led 3 Lives on this site. Another good one about communism in the USA.
bump to save
His marriage broke up because his wife thought he really was a Communist--the FBI wouldn't let him tell her the truth.
The movie doesn’t mention his wife. It does portray the miserable relationship he had with his brother and son, and his mother’s heartbreak, over his Communist involvement.
There were a lot of titles like that out back then that, prediction-wise, held their own.
I do recall back in '64 how many of my teachers in high school did an intense smear job on Stormer's "None Dare Call It Treason", just like the media did a major league smear job on Barry Goldwater.
It wasn't till mid '65 when most people realized they'd voted for the wrong candidate.
Goldwater got a small measure of revenge when, in '68, not even the lying cheat could run on what he'd done to America.
Of course, we got stuck with Nixon, and the left's dream candidate, McGovern, won the nomination for the CPUSA Democrats.
The sad part of that was Nixon could have won that election with both hands tied behind his back, but for some unfathomable reason gave the "Plumbers" free rein to do stupid stuff like Watergate, and in that respect the rest is history.
But that was the mindset of RMN, and the whole country paid an awful price for that.

Nixon was being impeached in spite of all of the excuses we were given not to pursue charges against Obama.
“he was popularly re-elected”
“you’ll lose the subsequent house and senate and presidency elections as a result of the investigations”
blah blah blah
