The new Note7 is really an impressive piece of hardware, with expandable memory, phenomenal battery life, the best screen in the business, and a highly useful stylus. I know many pooh-pooh the stylus, but I use mine (Note 5) all the time, and others do as well. It's awesome to be able to scribble down a note or do a quick drawing at work - and then e-mail that drawing to everyone.

The new Note7 set a very high benchmark, and I think the iPhone 7 will come up short (especially if it does lose the headphone jack - that's a massive step backwards in functionality, audio quality, AND convenience).

Since you mentioned Apple, shouldn’t this be in the Religion Forum?

Let me know when they come out with a version that doesn’t use Google’s Android.

My last three phones have been Samsung. They have beautiful screens, and lots of positives, but irrespective of benchmarks and other criteria, I still think that taken as a complete package iPhones are still way, way functionally beyond anything Samsung has come up with. That said, I also think iPhones are not very good ‘phones’, particularly when using the internal microphone.

Google makes great smartphones, without the Samsung or Service Provider changes to Android O/S. Pure Android operating system w/out any changes.

(My mom has the Note 5 - and I love the size - but I hate what Verizon did to the O/S)

Nexus 5/5x/6p phones are the best. And they are cheaper and don’t come with a 1-2 service agreement. I use Net10 Wireless and a Nexus 5x.

Meh. I checked out the new Note, but I’m much happier with my 6P and vanilla android. I’ll also have Nougat in a day or two :D

I use iPhone for personal and Samsung (android) for work. Every day, side by side use. Android sucks. Samsung phones are not as good as iPhone. It’s just reality.

I got an LG Stylo 2 last week as a less expensive version of the Note7.

Works fine and has all of the bells and whistles of the Note7.

I’m trying to decide between now this, The S7 Edge, or the S7 Active. Any advice? Also I was looking at an otter box for a case.

Resolution is the same as 5.1” S7 in a 5.7” screen. Ridiculous. Why didn’t they improve that?

Do not leave your Samsung 6 phone on the dash in the sun on a hot day. You will bake it. It turned off automatically to protect it, about an hour later it did recover.

Lesson learned.
