NBC came under fire Sunday night after frustrated viewers took to Twitter to complain about the closing ceremony being aired on an hour delay. Tweets poured in from across the United States as viewers slammed the network for choosing to air the closing ceremony at 8pm, rather than 7pm. Typically, a network will delay a broadcast due to time difference.

They were doing the 10M diving, and they decide to profile this guy from the UK who had a tough life. They also used to to announce that he’s a sodomite and how wonderful THAT was....disgusting.
I only watched a few minutes this. NBC talking heads annoy me too much to watch.
I could force myself to listen to most of them but always kept the remote in reach for those awful times they would cut to Bob Costas...
Just saw in the Mail that the Brazilian supermodel was there (during the dancing salad characters). I watched the whole thing (muted with Pandora running) and did not see that...they cut it out?
I saw that piece. Seemed like a nice enough guy...I believe his father had recently died at a relatively young age...then boom, here’s his boyfriend.
Not boyfriend...fincee’
It was sickening. I sent my kids out of the room and hit “mute” as soon as I could.
It seemed like he was a kid who had a rough couple of years. I don’t need to be informed he is now a sodomite. It was disgusting.
There’s nothing that gets NBC and ESPN more excited than a story about a homosexual athlete. Strange.
NBC would have tape delayed 9-11 if they could make a buck more in ads.
Twitter was invented for people to complain,if they showed it at 8 they would say it was on too late
Not boyfriend...fincee
Watch out elton getting divorced....
Yeah disgusting...
Then, he bombed out and didn’t medal. (snicker...)
Tape delay is not new. Back around 1962 we were watching the Miss America pageant “LIVE” on TV when someone turned on the radio and it was announced who had won an hour before the “LIVE” broadcast showed the winner.
I can’t stand the liberal commentators, probably the last time I watch any of the Olympics, that and the hell hole they had them in ...
Even the US Hockey Team victory over the Soviets in the 1980 Winter Olympics was not broadcast live. I found out the result before they aired it.
“Plausibly live”...just like their journalism.
Yeah, I remember the “Miracle On Ice” because the studio hosts with the live shots of the Olympic Village were trying, failingly, to not report the outcome while Lake Placid was going bonkers over having beaten the Russians.
Frank Gifford used to tell the story of the ‘76 Winter Games when he had wrapped up the men’s downhill skiing coverage since the first 10-15 guys down the hill almost always win the medals due to deteriorating track conditions when a veteran Austrian skiier named Franz Klammer came from nowhere back in the pack to post the gold-medal winning time with his countrymen cheering madly in the background.
“You’ve got to retape the segment, Frank,” ABC producers told him. “But how can I?, he answered. “The race is already over.” “No problem, we have his run on videotape. You just have to act like it’s live.” “Well, there’s no way it can sound as good...”
Frank fought with the producers but, in the end, he had to sit in a studio and yell at a videotape as if it was happening live and he didn’t know the outcome when he fully knew the outcome.
Thus he had crossed the line from “reporter” to “presenter”.

The Franz Klammer Olympic run - all yelled later in an ABC studio after the race had been won.
