Sorry but I tend not to believe anything the "police" in Rio say without; video back up, lie detector tests and a signed affidavit from God Almighty.

The police in Rio are, if possible, even more corrupt then the police in Venezuela and that is a tough standard to beat.

I would believe a bit of extortion by a security guard, before I could easily believe that.

No need. There IS security cam video of the incident. The swimmers did lie about the incident...based on their conflicting accounts, timing and changes in their story.

Not saying I completely believe the Rio cops but these kids are guilty as hell and weren't simply "robbed at gunpoint".
