Kung Fu Fighting
Carl Douglas
Oh-hoh-hoh-hoah
Oh-hoh-hoh-hoah
Oh-hoh-hoh-hoah
Oh-hoh-hoh-hoah
[Chorus:]
Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting
Those kids were fast as lightning
In fact, it was a little bit frightening
But they fought with expert timing
There were funky China men from funky Chinatown
They were chopping them up
They were chopping them down
It's an ancient Chinese art
And everybody knew their part
From a feinting, to a slip
And a kickin' from the hip
Everybody was Kung Fu fighting
Those kids were fast as lightning
In fact it was a little bit frightening
But they fought with expert timing
There was funky Billie Chin and little Sammy Chong
He said, here comes the big boss, let's get it on
We took the bow and made a stand
Started swaying with the hand
A sudden motion made me skip
Now we're into a brand new trip
Everybody was Kung Fu fighting
Those kids were fast as lightning
In fact it was a little bit frightening
But they did it with expert timing
Oh-hoh-hoh-hoh, ha
Oh-hoh-hoh-hoh, ha
Oh-hoh-hoh-hoh-ha
Keep on, keep on, keep on
Sure enough
Everybody was Kung Fu fighting
Those kids were fast as lightning
In fact it was a little bit frightening
Make sure you have expert timing
Kung Fu fighting, had to be fast as lightning...

The head lama is very brave, Buddhism is traditionally extremely sexist monastically.
And no one messes with those girls.

If anyone wants to see a hilarious send-up of martial arts movies watch "Kung Pow! Enter the Fist" starring, written, and directed by Bob Oedekerk. It's pretty damn funny, spoofing all of those Kung Fu movies we grew up on.

Nuns are perceived as inferior to monks and usually spend their time working in the kitchens and gardens of Buddhist monasteries.
Not sure where they got this but food prep and service
have always been a part of Buddhist learning for nuns
and monks.

Interesting that they are allowed to date from time to time, as long as no one gets in the habit.
