Has anyone else received weird calls from a place called MapSupport? It starts with a recorded intro that say many people have flagged your business address as inaccurate, to correct the info press a number to talk to an associate..."
I tried to get some info out of someone who identified himself as Aaron, but he became very testy when I would not cooperate with his line of questioning.
I have been called several times by this company, I ask them to stop calling, my info is correct on Google and Google maps, so I'm not sure what they are up to.
Its for the Clinton Drone strike against Freepers....
ugh
Sounds like a pretty good scam.
Give me your credit card info, and I can optimize your search engine placement too!
Scam.
The link will open in a new window.
We still get the calls from “Microsoft Security Center” with some Hindu/Pakistani twerp trying to access our machines. I looked up Hindi insults and told the last guy his mother had dried lizard eggs in her butt hair (in Hindi). He hung up on me.
All I get is calls from Frank in India wanting to sell me some Windows license
Since it’s a business, you’re probably too busy to keep these kind of crooks on the line chatting aimlessly. As a retiree, I’ve had fun with a few of them.
No but we get loads from the tax people saying give us 100 itune cards to pay your bill or we’ll take you to court , LOL, the last guy got a taste of a very loud sports whistle ,he’ll have trouble with that ear I think
Scam
Do not answer the phone as they WILL sell your number as “active” to other scammers and the cycle never ends.
If you don’t recognize the caller, don’t answer.
If it is important they will leave a message.
Send $99 for more information. Do it now and we’ll remove your coordinates from our little drone.
I tell them I paid my windows license when I bought the house.
As a retiree then you will love looking at the archives on http://www.419eater.com/
Enjoy.
I do exactly what you do. That’s what caller ID is for. If I recognize the number, I answer. If not, I don’t answer. I have the philosophy that if the caller ID comes up “Unavailable,” that makes two of us. A ringing telephone does NOT have the right to be answered. If its important, they will leave a message.
When it started becoming personal, such as if you had ever worn briefs or boxers, I immediately became suspicious as to how he knew you never wore either and preferred going commando.........
That was a strange call.
Type the phone number into your search engine (I use Bing) using format ###-###-####. In the results look for 800notes or Mr. Number websites & the comments will tell you what other people have experienced with the number & what the scam is. We use a call blocker because the cr@p scam calls are so bad.
Frank from Windows has been a frequent caller here too but our latest one is the IRS wanting to help me avoid prison time by direct credit or transfer of funds. I mean, you gotta do it RIGHT NOW!!
Wow that’s awesome! Never heard of it before, thanks
