I waited all weekend for this game, and I was very excited. How can this happen?
How is this possible?
We use to play in a rock pit.
Okay, we didn’t get paid a million dollars.
5.56mm
Who do they think they are? Nascar??
I confess to being paranoid (with what I do it’s a job skill) but are we sure this is not a bull(bleep) cover story for a security concern?
CC
Fire Goodell. Please.
NFL makes billions - and yet this happens... LOL
This is extremely odd. Perhaps more to the story?
Pre-season NFL football.
Yawn.
SNOWFLAKES!!!!!
Football fields can be mud pits, frozen solid, or carpet over asphalt (astroturf), how can there be concerns about the field?
Not like they didn’t know long ago the game was scheduled for that date. Who is their groundskeeper, Carl Spackler?
And the fans who overpaid to sit on wooden bleachers will get a generous refund of their full ticket price. /s
They had a concert and an event last night all before the game today.
The field was trampled and didn’t recover enough for the game.
And then there was the logo in the middle of the field done with the wrong paint.
NFL got greedy and lost the game as a result.
So, in the days of multipurpose stadiums — Oakland is the last — NFL teams played on dirt baseball infields until October. They can’t play on an all grass field? What the h*ll kind of b*llsh*t is this? Get out there and play, p*ssy assh*les.
Maybe someone deflated it.
Thank you for posting this. If I hadn’t seen it on Free Republic I probably wouldn’t have known about the cancellation until I tried tuning in for the game. I’m a bit disappointed, because I was anxious to see how well the Packers’ new draftees and free agents were going to play. Now I’ll just have to wait until next week. But it would have been devastating if there were serious player injuries on either team just because of a poor playing surface.
Perhaps the NFL will learn a lesson from this. Just kidding, they won’t.
Guess I’ll have to watch Olympic soccer in an hour instead. (Said no Packers fan ever!)
Dang. Was looking forward to this. Field conditions?
