CANTON, Ohio FOX6 News has learned the Green Bay Packers vs. Indianapolis Colts Pro Football Hall of Fame Game set for Sunday evening, August 7th has been cancelled due to turf concerns.
Apparently there is an issue with the condition of the field at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium after Saturday nights Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
FOX6s Tim Van Vooren is there and reported decision makers for the Packers and Colts were on the field, meeting about the field condition. David Baker, president of the Pro Football Hall of Fame was speaking with team leaders.
Clint Eastwood’s recent comment that we were”...a nation of pussies” suddenly popped into my head when I read this.
I just saw the Goodyear blimp go over when I picked my dog up from his bath at petsmart around 7pm, just up the highway from the stadium.
How embarrassing for the HOF and Canton.
As someone who has had knee surgery due to ah “traction issues” with the ground, I 100% agree. If the field is too sloppy, there’s no reason to take significant risks of getting people hurt.
Thanks, I was searching for a photo or video of this earlier.
Reporter-”Hey coach, what do you think about your team’s execution today?”
Coach-”Sounds like a good idea”
LOL, I remember a Monday night game at Soldier Field where it rained buckets. The field could have had ladders to negotiate the trenches in the turf.
It was the night they retired Dick Butkus’ jersey. He stood out there in a virtual hurricane giving a half-time speech thanking the fans.
Perfect football conditions.
It’s the Colts. First it was low football pressure, now the paint on the field; next it will be the other team’s uniforms are too colorful...
Oops; misses the sarcasm off tag...

Wide right.
Make sure the laces are up next time!
That was John McKay when he was coaching the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I believe his exact response was “I’m in favor of it.”
I remember a Monday night game at Heinz Field. It was the first year there. The game was played in a monsoon. There was a punting situation and the Steeler returner let the ball hit the ground. The ball went into the turf like a lawn dart. Field conditions was some of the worst I’ve ever seen. Just pure slop.
I posted it reduced in hopes to make it clearer.
Alas i learned it is in the rain
I am not a fan so what is the significance?
What did Bud Grant ever win? LOL

Not the big one, nope. Great regular season record and a heckuva guy, tho, so Minnesotans love him.
He won an NFL Championship.
