‘We’ve had ENOUGH Merkel’ Rest of Europe gangs up on Germany over crippling EU austerity

ANGELA Merkel cut an increasingly isolated figure in Europe tonight as the rest of the continent ganged up on Germany over its imposition of crippling austerity.

Major EU nations including France, Italy and Spain are clubbing together to form a new alliance with the aim of wrestling back economic power from the German leader.

Mediterranean economies have been devastated by an EU-wide policy of austerity enforced from Berlin, which has led to massive youth unemployment and soaring poverty.

Fiscally conservative Germany, which is the EU’s largest economy, is reluctant to loosen the purse strings and authorise the huge injection of cash many other member states need to kickstart their fortunes.

But policies which have benefited German industry and exports have caused economic oblivion in many parts of southern Europe, and now the rest of the continent seems to have had enough.

The leaders of France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Cyprus and Malta are planning to meet in Athens next month to forge a new anti-austerity alliance with the aim of wrestling back control of the European Central Back (ECB), which sets Eurozone fiscal policy, from Berlin.

It is being headed up by Greek premier Alexis Tsipras, who has frequently clashed with both Mrs Merkel and Brussels over the crippling austerity which has brought his country to its knees.

Perhaps. On the other hand, God has not simply failed to take notice of what is happening.

It is truly a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God. A lot of folks are heading that direction as we speak.

Europe is finished.

It is easy to believe that.

The people of some European nations are finally seeing the writing on the wall. They see their culture and history being undone before their very eyes at last.

Germany's education system has taught nationalism out of the public consciousness. They have forsaken much of the heritage that once made them a great people. They have exchanged greatness for comfortable complacency. They have exchanged grand ideas for pettiness.

Perhaps I am a hopeless optimist, for I have not written them off yet, despite every indicator showing that they are finished.

Germany is the nation that gave us Mozart and Beethoven. Einstein and Gutenberg. Though she was Empress of Russia, Catherine the Great was also German. Martin Luther and the protestant reformation. Erwin Rommel. They were part of the Holy League that stopped the march of Islam at the gates of Vienna.

Somehow, I just have this feeling. I think that before the end, they will remember themselves. They will fight for what is theirs.

Doesn't mean they will win. It just means that before they are completely finished, they will acquit themselves in a manner worthy of who they once were...and who they might be again, should God show mercy on them.

Like I said, maybe I'm a hopeless optimist at heart. I only hope we can do the same when our day comes.

They fought two world wars to conquer Europe and finally did it with the EU.
I’ll bet they wish like heck they never did.

Merkel is guilty of muslim immigration, but she is right on that particular issue. Prime Ministers of both Greece and Portugal are commies. They got elected and now find there is no money for their dumb promises. In a good old commie way they now demand that other people must pay for it.
