From the very little of it that I watched it was indeed dreadful.
I only watched bits of the athletes entering the stadium, something I usually enjoy. But, first of all they kept cutting (for no reason at all and over and over again) to team USA, who seemed to be doing nothing but posing for selfies and the cameras. Hey, I support our Olympians as much as anyone, but you know, enough is enough, I don’t need to see them every 10 seconds.
And secondly, what was the deal with the people riding in on the little tricyles? Is that a Brazilian thing, riding on trikes? I mean they all looked cute and sweet, but you know it was odd. And what was the little potted plant thing all about? It was like each country had it’s own 12 year old with a bean plant.
Awful, just awful. I lasted about 20 minutes and I think I saw Team USA about 40 times.
Good luck to the competitors, I like the Summer Olympics I might give it another try, but I’m fairly underwhelmed so far.
And....these people will probably spread Zika world wide, so that’s also very bad.
The trikes were carrying the names of the countries in Portuguese. They were recycling both trikes and cute kids. I saw the same cute red haired little girl with a braid running down the her back at least seven times leading seven different countries, clutching her pathetic potted plant with one leaf on it. Unless there is a family in Brazil with identical septuplet red-headed cute girls no one has heard about, Brazil could come up with 206 volunteer kids to lead the countries in, or were too cheap to buy 206 pots and plants! LOL!
Another little boy I saw about the same number of times, was looking so exhausted by the end of the evening, his eyes were almost looking as if he had been in a fight and he was fighting back yawns. He looked as if he could fall asleep while walking. He was holding his potted plant as if it were keeping him upright on his last go-round.
