A Muslim organization has privatised an indoor swimming pool in southern France that is allowing women to wear burqinis, but the local mayor is having none of it and neither are right-wing politicians.... "There is nothing innocuous about this: The battle of 'the veil' is a visible sign of fundamentalists wanting to mark their territory and subjugate women, like men, and to establish a territory where Islam appears uniform and in social control," she said, reported L'Express newspaper.

I guess the French are sticking to their French Revolution principles. No dangerous religious behavior anywhere. Used to apply to Catholics, but not to Muslims.

The burkini isn’t the problem.
Muslim men who threaten women not wearing something like it is the problem.

Those outfits are equally scary and ridiculous.
Those poor women, made to feel their bodies are that shameful. While the real problem is the men’s lack of impulse control or the tendency to over control everybody around them for the sake of Islam.

Khan’s wife had on her hajib at the DNC. Why didn’t Shillary schreech about women’s rights and rip it off?

It says they privatized it though. I took that to mean they bought it and now own it. I don’t see the problem.

The problem would be if Muslims convinced panty-waist politicians to not allow bikinis at supposedly public pools.
