Not everyone who is convicted of murder is sentenced to death, likewise not everyone convicted of rape should be sentenced to death either. But it should be an option.
A false accusation of rape should carry heavy consequences as well. Life in prison would not be out of limits.
Just as a rape can destroy a person’s life, their relationships, their mental state, their ability to trust and have normal contact with people, so too does a false accusation of rape.
Forcible rape is a hideous offense and should be treated as the same level of murder. Often, it has the same results in taking away a person’s life.
Those who forcibly rape women, and especially children, should face the possibility of death from the State. Those who falsely accuse someone of rape should face a life in prison.
Agreed. Before the death penalty is instituted there should be overwhelming evidence of forcible rape and not some chick who decides three weeks after having consensual sex that she MIGHT have been raped because she was somewhat drunk (but still conscious and agreeable) when it happened.
