They are basically fruitcakes and pretty sorry ones at that. Virtually everything about their public persona is false.
The other Judds — the mother and Ashley's sister, Wynnona, are pro-life and outspoken about it. They may have personal problems of their own, but they are 100% opposed to killing the unborn.

Exactly. Naomi dated 2 guys in High School & conceived Wynonna. One of the boys was wealthy so she claimed he was the father, when she knew he was not. Unfortunately for Naomi, Wynonna looked just like her real father, so that secret didn’t last very long.
Naomi resented Wynonna for that and was emotionally & verbally abusive to her. Naomi’s not the sweet, doting mother she portrayed for years. She is selfish & narcissitic. Evidently, Ashley possesses those same qualities. She’s an arrogant know-it-all who is quite ignorant about the real world.
The ironic thing is that Ashley & Naomi owe their success to Wynonna. She’s the only one in that family with any actual talent. Naomi was only a backup singer. If not for Wynonna, they would be working regular jobs.
Yet, Naomi & Ashley both treat Wynonna as an ugly stepsister.
