I agree, but in the mean time I look at the future that may exist before he returns.
Imagine if voters looked ahead of time farther than they did when FDR was elected. Some asked what if and most ignored them.
Churchill said what if. They ignored him and elected Chamberlain and look what happened.
I don’t disparage trump with that comment, but the future regime that will come later like Obama’s or worse in maybe like 2030, and the Wall is just a tool to control us instead of illegals.

From that day (which we cannot know until the moon actually shows) it will be 7 Biblical years, which obviously are variable in length due to the climatic issues that control the ripening of the barley in the Kidron valley, but we also know that he returns on the day of Trumpets.
That is why he tells us to watch in Revelation 3:3.
