Officials told residents of a small Colorado community not to drink or shower in tap water Thursday because one of the towns wells may have been contaminated with THC, marijuanas intoxicating chemical.
No illnesses have been linked to the water in Hugo, a town of about 730 people some 100 miles southeast of Denver, said Lincoln County Public Health Director Susan Kelly.
THC was detected in tests conducted with field kits, although other field tests were negative, sheriffs Capt. Michael Yowell said.
More definitive laboratory tests were underway, he said.

but they hadn't determined whether someone deliberately tainted the water, Yowell said. And waste all that THC? Unlikely.

I’m just trying to figure out where this town bought their tests from, because boy, someone’s sure making money here.
I mean, seriously, a THC test for the water supply? Why would anyone even think of including that in a test kit?
And strangely, they put something in there that would actually react to water so it could give a false positive.

That is quite an improvement on Colorado water, which requires treatment in individual homes before it can be used even for the laundry.

So some kits gave positive results, others negative. Anyone want to bet the positive ones were perhaps tainted by traces from the guy doing the test? Maybe someone ought to test him, his hair, clothing, vehicle, etc...

Methinks somebody forgot to wash their hands after smoking a fatty, and before testing the water. There is more to this than what is being reported.

Jeff Bridges! He hid in the Coast Guard Reserve back in 1968-1974. He had his dad help get him in as all the Guard's were almost impossible to get into. He was at Coast Guard base Alameda in the summer of 1971. My cousin who was in the regular Coast Guard saw him there during his two week active. Said he had his guitar with him and played and sang all the latest hippie songs in the barracks each night during those two weeks.
Scummy drugged up guy. And probably still is a druggie.
