Due to my disgust of Murray Horwitz and his producers actions tonight's thread will be minimal. It may be the last BB thread. They've actually put violence advisories on Johnny Dollar, Gunsmoke, Suspense, etc. This along with last week's Lux intro and I have little respect for them and don't believe they and the snowflakes in the DC listening area should be allowed to listen to these treasures. They might not be mature or intelligent enough. There's more I'd like to say but I'm curious about something they may or may not do tonight so I'm waiting to pass judgement.
This might be the last BB thread. We've had a good run, how many years has it been? 6? 8?

I’m with you, Vision, disgusted with what Murray Horowitz is doing, and the stupid advisories are just about the last straw. Has he turned on today’s television shows or seen what Hollywood spits out now? And he issues advisories for programs BACK THEN?!
I can’t stand stupid liberal thinking.
We’ve had a good time all these years, though. I miss Ed.

Slightly off-topic but related, is a clip from “The Big Broadcast of 1938” movie. A divorced couple meet at the bar on a cruise ship, played by Bob Hope and Shirley Ross, who sing “Thanks for the Memories.” A delightful and bittersweet encounter, the tune became Bob Hope’s theme song for the rest of his career. The clip is 6 minutes, 14 seconds and has a brief beginning with W. C. Fields, doing what W. C. Fields does.

Love that movie, filmed at America's cultural peak.

Now you see why Gina and I almost went full China Syndrome on WAMU's message board a couple of weeks back. I say we stand and fight.

You might be right. One thing I am wondering is if they put the advisories in the schedule to not have to say them on air.
Even so Murray's got to figure out this is not the Murray Horwitz show, he is a steward of the BB. And that we're trying to relax and hear stories, we don't need hyper analysis or social commentary on each show. Jeesh. And what type of a jerk would remove Eddie Cantor at the end?!

The fact that the opening three shows are back in place this week just might be an indication that WAMU is getting big blow-back for Murray’s jacking with it. I don’t know.

Maybe... holding breath.
I don’t want all of us to go away from here. I love our Sunday evenings. How else would we know what we’re each barbecuing? :-/ :-)

We just dig in our heels. As you said, Vision, Murray has to decide whether he's a steward, or an activist interloper.
Cutting out for an hour. The Last Ship is coming on, and it looks like Chandler went rogue against presidential orders to free Slattery and the rest of his team from those Asian pirates. But if I recall correctly, the was a torpedo bearing down on the Nathan James after they cleared the minefield. Ought to be a good one.

Ok, let's continue on. BTW, just broiled a flank steak and one of my eggplants tonight. Hitting the diet again for a few weeks (for the upcoming trip to Italy)

Oh, I love eggplant! I haven’t had it in a very long time. Keith doesn’t like any kind of squash. But, I used to slice it sideways, about an inch thick, and put it on the grill, constantly flipping and basting it with a mix of butter, olive oil and salt/pepper/garlic powder until it’s well-done. So good!

Yea it's good. Kinda low on nutrition but it's indulgent. Love eggplant parm. Tonight just sliced, sprayed a touch of oil and spice, broiled, it was crispy and creamy. You?
