Greeting, Kitteh lovers everywhere. I just got a new Furbaby! I Lost my dear Suzie Q about 7 weeks ago. I was just heartbroken. Of all the cats, she was "my" cat. While departing the vet with an empty Cat carrier (a truly crappy experience) I noticed a sign up advertising kittens. Despite my sadness something said "take the number" , so I did. I exchanged texts and photos with the mama cats owner and picked one out. I just got home with her. She is a grayish brown "dilute" tortoiseshell with a facial "blaze" on her right cheek which is tan. Her feet are all tan too, as well as a chest ruffle. It's almost like a sealpoint pattern. Her name is "Dr. Annabell Pepper" or Pepper for short. She is a graduate of the Dr. Tinycat school of veterinary medicine at Embry-O university. She will be staying in the bedroom with me for a few days with "supervised" introductions to the other cats. She's already growled at the other cats through the baby gate. I suspect she will be running the joint within the year. Just having fun with my new little girl.
Congratulations! Enjoy your new kitty! Pictures please! We want to see her.
Congratulations on your new arrival!
Ignore the Homer. Some of us enjoy hearing some good news once in awhile.
Good on ya for getting a new furry member of the family, and hope more people do likewise. My own furry friends have been a lifesaver on many occasions, and I do not want to think about what life would be like without them.
Give them all plenty of love and they will return it to you tenfold. :)
Cheers!
I recently went to the vet with my Boston Terrier - Betty Boop - and came home empty handed. I understand you feel. Glad you jumped back in. Plenty of animals out there that need a responsible, loving human.
I did see an interesting story this week about a funeral parlor that had what looked like labradoodles that roamed the funeral home and comforted those grieving. The dogs would just go up and nuzzle people. Such a great idea. Would really be helpful for children.
Mazel Tov!
:-)
best cat name ever felis sphincterus....think about it
Congrats on your new furball!
Awesome kitty! How much does she weigh?
I'm tempted to add a comma before 'cats'.
Which kitty are you asking about? Zizu, my little rescue girl, or Bijou, my show quality Maine Coon? Zizu just topped the scales at 7.1 lbs., sooo much better than the pathetic 4.2 lbs. she weighed when I rescued her from the third-rate NJ "veterinarian" boarding her for a third-rate local rescue group back in April. Bijou usually weighs about 11.5 lbs., but with Zizu bothering her when she's trying to eat, she's lost a pound. I expect her to regain that weight when Zizu settles down a bit with maturity.
Mom had 2 cats that got along for the most part. When they had a spat, their routine was to ‘box’ each other. It looked like they were trading punches. Finally they’d break and all would be well. It really was funny to watch.
Oh go away! I love seeing this stuff!!
My six furballs and I commend you for rescuing a kitty. “Bless the beasts and the children, for in this world they have no voice.”
The rubbable tummy feature is always a must. What a gorgeous kitteh...
Aww, congratulations!
I believe I spot a trend
Good for you. IMHO the best way to deal with the loss of a beloved fur person is to adopt another ASAP. It happened to me a bit less than six years ago when I lost the beloved Brother, who was half Cholocate Lab and half Weimaraner. I got to work right away on the Internet looking for a Great Dane and found a wonderful black and white mantled Dane who looks a bit like a giant black and white Beagle with long, floppy black ears. He’s five years old now and one of the best dogs I’ve ever had.
Our 2 cats do that! We call it a bat attack. One will paw bat & then it’s a full blown bat attack. Moshe was on her hind legs last week. Then they snuggle down & sleep.
Congratulations CC! I am so happy you have a new loveball. I am on the couch w/ our shelter adoption dog. Last Sunday we put our beloved 16 year old dog to sleep. Our new one came home this past Tuesday & it’s like she’s been here forever.
Give her a smooch from my crew!
