A group of BLM protesters have formed a circle in the middle of the very busy "Commercial Street" in the heart of the "Old Port District".
Police have blocked off all traffic on the street, which is normally jammed to capacity with cars and pedestrians on a typical Summer weekend night.
The protesters have declared they don't care if they are arrested.
One station is running commentary from a reporter. Second station is doing the regular news and weather. Third station is reviewing the entire protest activities of the night.
No, LL Bean does not have a store in Portland. No looting has been reported.

They are now blocking Middle Street in front of the police station. The news station has moved on to other stories.
I guess they can only get so mad in the State of Maine.

The reporter basically just asked a black pastor who is just observing that question. Most of the protesters tonight are white.
Just before he interviewed a woman who claims she started off as an ACLU observer but took off her best and joined the protests after people were arrested.

Everyone including the press think the arrestees are at the police dept. All arrested people go right to the county jail. The police dept has no holding cells.
Reporter finally just clarifed that they went to 50 County Way.

Media relations woman for the protest just complained to a reporter the the police did not have enough compassion when pushing people out of the way of a driver who wanted to get through on Commercial Street. The police had told the folks to use your head. This hurt their feelings.
She did this interview while looking at everything but the camera. Not a savy media spokeswoman.
Me thinks this driver was a test to see what the reaction would be.
No, this was a crazy woman. Sheena who is the former ed of the Maine chapter is sane compared to this woman.
