By Heat Street Staff | 7:11 pm, July 13, 2016 Purdue University this afternoon has issued a statement in the case of a student allegedly threatened with expulsion and definitely the recipient of death threats for criticizing Black Lives Matter on Facebook.
Joshua Nash, a biology major who is gay and refers to himself as a dangerous faggot in his Twitter bio (a reference to conservative commentator Milo Yiannopoulos) was summoned to a mandatory Administrative Meeting after a student reported a posting of his made on Facebook. According to Nash, the Facebook posting was to the effect that Black Lives Matter is trash because they do not really care about black lives. They simply care about making money and disrupting events for dead people.
Nash says that when he called the university administration for clarification about this hearing, he was told he could face consequences for his posting up to and including expulsion.

“Problem is that academic accreditation agencies insist upon the sanctity of tenure, and a lot is given up if a college were to lose accreditation. It can still operate of course, but a lot of opportunities for students, graduates, and faculty may not exist from an unaccredited college. Just for example, most graduate and professional schools may not seriously consider applicants from an unaccredited institution. There would be a ton of revenge actions from all over academe to any institutions which gave up tenure and thus accreditation.”
I agree, that is a big problem. However that “accreditation firewall” can only hold up to so much pressure. As college tuition priced soar and colleges keep offering ever worse product and suck up ever more money, the dam will break and woe to anyone who is in the middle of their career as enforcers in the public reeducation camps.
Purdue is a public university; this IS Obama/Stalinism at its worst. One thing Trump really needs to do when he takes office is campus reform, and I hope Ryan, McConnell, etc. will join him. If Obama Hussein can use the federal government to shove the campus sex assault LIE down everyones throats, that Donald J. Trump can use it to force more politically inclusionary and patriotic hiring in academia.
Tell your children and grandkids to not even consider applying to Perdue.
Purdue Now Says It Wont Expel Student Who Criticized Black Lives Matter
That’s mighty white of them.
Because he’s gay, no other reason. Victimhood triumphs.
They don’t believe in the full meaning of free speech.
In a just world, the DoJ Civil Rights division would be at Purdue’s dootstep.
Academic freedom and the free flow of ideas and exposure to different philosophies, all alleged hallmarks of the college experience are DOA in America’s colleges and universities.
Unless you are 100% PC you had better be silent in every aspect of your existence in college. The left which is currently all radical has brought about a return to the Dark Ages in higher education.
In most cases university presidents are fund raisers and PR people who wield very little actual power. The deans, bueracrats and unions run the universities.
I had a friend who was a controller for a big ten university just a few years back. The deans and nearly half dozen unions she had to deal with ignored her, the state laws, the legislature and administration. She left after about one year not wanting to lose her reputation in the massive corruption at this university.
I'll bet Hillsdale would take him, homosexual or not.
