I agree with those, and would add “My Name Is Earl.”

Personally, I do skew a bit older, just turned 60. And also don’t watch much current TV because so much of TV today is pushing the liberal agenda. Also, in my opinion, many shows today just don’t seem as well written or intelligently written as the shows of yesteryear.

Might be that over time the not-so-great TV shows of the past drift off to obscurity (e.g. "My Mother the Car", "Galactica 1980") while the good ones from the past continue to air on TV.

The definitive answer:
M.A.S.H.

As the M.A.S.H. theme song may suggest that “Suicide is Painless”, watching M.A.S.H. is NOT.

Yes , BTVS , and SMG delivered those lines so well from episode one. She learned well from AMC and Susan Lucci?

Definitely,

Monty Python’s Flying Circus
Fawlty Towers

I would add The Benny Hill Show.

The only shows that are currently airing that I actually want to watch ?

Game of Thrones

Archer

WOW! 104 replies and no one even mentioned “Dexter”, a series that was on everyone’s lips for season after season and got tied up with a ribbon and won many Emmy’s. I vote for that.

I loved the Jimmy Dean Show, Ed Sullivan, American Bandstand, Shindig, and have to add the Johnny Cash Show. The Cash show was on at the height of his popularity and I was kinda tired of him. But I have run across a number of clips recently from the show, and I’m blown away by the amazing array of talent, and the setting in which they were showcased. (Yes, music shows were my favorites)

Mary Tyler Moore, All in the Family, Sanford and Son, Newhart. Rockford, Murder She Wrote, Matlock. NCIS was really good for a few seasons but like a lot that stay too long is just boring now. And this obscure little gem, Frank’s Place. Yes, of course, Lucy and Tonight Show (though I don’t like Jay Leno), and I must admit I laugh awfully loud at Family Feud.

Dittos I Love Lucy with the Honeymooners a very close second. Fawlty Towers is a very close 3rd.

LOL! Isn’t that a brief reference to a future television show in the movie, “Idiocracy?”
